Last rod of 2013

Here is the last rod off my bench for 2013. It's another Epic glass 480 in the new Mocha color offered by Carl McNeil. Went after a classic Fenwick look with updated top shelf components. Teamed her up with my Hardy Marquis for a sexy photo shoot .

Blank: Epic 480 Mocha
Seat: Lemke LC1 down-locking, with an African Resin Wood insert
Handle: Full-wells
Stripper: Joe Arguello Amber Agate
Guides/ tip top/ check: Snake Brand
Wraps: Gudebrod Chestnut with two turn Sandstone

On this build it was Threadmaster lite. Usually I just get whatever finish a supplier has on hand when I put in an order for components. Haven't found a finish yet that has been "The One". I have used spar on glass rods, but I usually save it for my traditional looking bamboo rods.
