Here is a rod I made from a Fenwick HMG blank I got when I worked there. The componants are PacBay. It is a 6'6" 4 WT that is sweet to cast.

Sweet!
How would you rate the Fenwick blanks? I'm considering building a 9' 6wt for
smallmouth, in 4-pc. I remember looking at Fenwicks when I was 15-16 yrs old, and wishing I had the $75 to buy one.

How I will rate this blank is from what I know of it. It is a medium (touch to the fast side) action blank. This blank was the first graphite blank in commercial production way back when (yes, really. It is that old but never built). It is an easy casting rod, too. I use it to cast in thight quarters like the canyon section of the Cimarron or the Guadalupe. I have other HMG rods that are just as nice, too.
