Default My latest bamboo build

This is the third bamboo rod I've made. (The first was under the expert guidance of Chris Bogart five years ago. The second had so many problems I don't care to share it here.)

It's a Tom Smithwick (thank you sir) Small Stream taper, 5.5' for 5 wt. Matt Draft reel seat, buckeye burl insert from a blank given to me by my good friend Ron Hossack, Joe Arguello agate stripper.

Pictured with the case I made for it. Also pictured is a case from the same board that I made for a friend.

There's a lot of satisfaction in making a bamboo fly rod from scratch.

That is absolutely gorgeous!!!! And the rod tubes are, ah heck, no words to describe them they're so good looking.

Great job!!! I love to see great craftsmanship. It's a dying art these days.
