Hey all! Just finished this one up. First wood/cork grip that I've done. Thought it came out respectable. Fairly new at building, but getting better with each one. Look forward to learning and seeing everyone's work.

Wood grip and Reel Seat spacer turned from Coolibah Burl.
REC Hardware
Snake brand Snake guides.
Fuji Ultra Poly in chestnut with copper trim.

This is an reply to an old post, but I am wondering how the Affinity X and how it compares to the Affinity MX.
Thanks,

Here's my understanding of the CTS fly line-up as I've order a few myself.

Affinity X -- Truly a very fast action rod as stated on the CTS site. My 5wt feels more like a 7wt.
Affinity M -- I haven't used one, but as I understand it's more of a medium flex profile. This blank is avail on the CTS site.
Affinity MX -- I haven't used one, but has the same tip as the Affinity X with a slightly softer butt. Not avail on the CTS site but you can get one for an up-charge (around 50USD I think).

If you have more detail questions I can link you with a guy who is an authorized CTS resaler here in the US. He is very familiar with the CTS line-up.
