Default Newbie maybe looking to start

I'm really interested in what it takes to make your own rods. A friend of mine just talked me into starting fly fishing, while looking at gear I noticed they sold blanks at the store. with a little further research I liked what I saw and have been thinking about trying my hand with it.

Does anyone have any suggestions or tips for getting started?

Now days with the internet there is tons of material posted on how to build your own rod. I've built a couple of rods using Orvis components back in the 80's when they sold rod building supplies and had a fun time doing it and it was a great sense of accomplishment when I fihished. Good luck with your project. Here are a few sites offering detailed advice:

Knock out a few plastic rods and then look into bamboo.
