Default Rod value inquiry.......

Not sure if I'm in the right section here but I looked in the For Sale section & didn't see these kinds of questions asked in there.

So................

Might you know the value of the following?

Orvis - Western - 9' - 2 pc - 6 wt - cloth sleeve and original Orvis hard tube. Rod like new.

Fenwick - FF805 - 8' - 5 wt - 2 pc - Cloth sleeve and original Fenwick hard container. Rod looks new.

Thanks!

The Orvis Western 9' would be a good buy at $100 and I would go as high as $150 if it is a pre 1985 rod. I were in the market for a two piece #6 I would look for one of the mid 90s PM 10 rods from Orvis but the Westerns were nice rods too. I don't know what the Fenwick would be worth.

I'm not sure but I think the Fenwick you have is a glass rod(is it brown?) it was made in the 70's and might interest a collector,as for the value I would say $50/100...

I would think that the Fenwick which is fiberglass (according to the model number) would be worth around 100$ with the original sock and tube. If you check on ebay, they pop up from time to time. You could get an idea of the worth. Also check fiberglassfryrodders.com. You will get a better opinion there.

Marc.

I would also put the Orvis at $100-$150.You should check at fiberglassflyrodders.yuku.com for a good estimate on the Fenwick.
