  1. Default Should I buy this baby?

I posted elsewhere here, not real pleased with my Trident (feels tip heavy and it a bit too short). Well, I rarely buy anything at Gander Mountain, but they have a Redington SR4 4 piece 9' 5 weight marked from $249 down to $149. It's not a typo, he has two of them in stock, new. He wouldn't hold it, but I knew NOTHING about it. You can't cast it there, it felt pretty decent, and I do need a 4 piece for travel this year, all my others are two piece. Even if I get a better one, or is this a pretty decent rod and price? Thanks, I'll be checking this because if I get a few "go for its" I'm stopping in the morning to pick it up Pretty nice finish on the thing too.

Buy it, or redtruckflyfishing has sage launch for about the same price.

i have 2 redington rs4 rods one 4wt and one 5wt both 9' rods and love them both, i couldent be any more happy with them. i dont think you would regret getting it all if you went that way. they are very well built and very good looking rods that out preform there price bracket by miles. i have not had to deal with redingtons customer service so i dont know if it is good or bad but i do see it as a good thing that i havent had to. i have 5 rods and 3 of them are redington rods, they would all be if i didnt get a out standing deal on the others. was going to pick up a CT9' 5wt today but found a ross essence FW 8'6" 5wt new at cabelas today that i walked away with paying only $97 all said and done (no that is not a typo ) but back to my point, you will never go wrong with redington rods, i love mine and will be buying more in the future personally

My 8'6" 5wt CT was delivered yesterday. SWEET rod! One of the best purchases I've made in a while.

To the OP; I'd pick it up. If you find that you don't like it (for some odd reason), you could probably sell it here or on Ebay and get back most/all of your money.

I would check out the new st croix imperials for around the same price...awesome casting rods for the money and really light.

Buy. My buddy has an RS3 3wt that he is very pleased with. He got it as warranty return for a Red.Fly 3/4. At the time, they had discontinued the 3/4 split weight in the Red.Fly. He preferred a 3 weight, and they only made the Red.Fly down to a 4wt. So, they upgraded him, no charge.

Bottom line, I don't know much about the rod, but the company takes good care of the customer. I'd have no reservations about a Redington rod based on quality or company practices.

AND, it comes with a lifetime warranty...
It's not the heat, it's the stupidity.
What manner of jackassery will I be subjected to today?

    As does the Redington.

I bought it and am taking her fishing this weekend. Our rivers have been flooded, I've been working, but preliminary casting in my yard is MOST impressive! Not bad for the dough I spent on it, thank you!
