After it was mentioned on the Reel Love thread which is full of our members favorite fly reels in photographic form, it seems that we could do with a picture thread for those much adored fly rods as well.

Here's the starter, a custom Flea and my trusty old Far & Fine.

Followed by, 1995 9' PM-10 #5 rod and an 8' 6 weight Orvis.

On the water with a 13' #9 weight Spey rod;

I know there are more pictures of rods but I'll need to find them :) You guys are out there taking pictures of these like they are girlfriends so you might as well start putting them all in one spot :D

The top rod is my 15' 8/9 Meiser which I want buried with me. To steal a line from the movie 'Blades of Glory', I could not love a human child more. The bottom rod is my 9' 10 wt. Wintson BIIX. It's a close second. I've got a lot of rods, but those are my favorites.

Another shot of the Meiser.

Another shot of the Winston.

Here are two rods I built in 1980. One is a 7'9" Orvis Far and Fine, the other a Scott Pow-R-Ply 8 1/2'/#5. My insert wraps were inspired by the great work of Russ Peak. These remained my favorit rods for about a 4 or 5 year period when they were both superceded by the next generation of Orvis rods, the Western Series and then new generations of materials and designs on to the present. However, having built them from quality blanks on my own they will always remain very special to me.

Alot of character in those rods that have seen more use :) Mine are all pretty inexperienced but no less loved:

A Sage VXP 9' 9wt, never fished

My 9' 9wt Orvis Clearwater II and my son's 9' 6wt Redington Crosswater

My 8.5' 6wt Fenwick HMX

Ard, I was wondering how long it would take to get this thread going. It's a natural followup to the Reel Love thread. Lots of great rods already on the first page. Those are some beauties Ard! I'll see what I can find on the PC to add to it, maybe get around to shooting a few this weekend.

DiverDan, that's a very impressive collection you have!

Couple More heavy rods

Nine foot Nine weight Orvis Silver Label with Battenkill 8/9, standing in the middle of the Kenai River.

An 8' 10" Orvis Light Salmon eight weight bamboo with a pair of fish. Built in 1964 & still hauling them in.

The big Pink Marabou and Bunny streamer was sent to me years ago by arfishingbear, 'Brandon' one of our long lost members from Arkansas. The fly caught 8 silvers on the trip and I still have it in good shape, thanks Brandon :)

This is a tough one, I certainly respect my rods and have my favorites but I can't say I love them like reels. Something about the machinery that rods just don't have. Well anyway, for something I don't love I sure have enough of them.

Closest thing to love is for my T&T 10WT

Switchs and Speys stay in tubes, no place to hang them :(

7WT-10WT

Salt

Newest addition, 5WT 10' on the wrapping board.

Thanks Casey! I realized the same thing you did, I didn't have many pics of rods unless there's a fish involved. Nice rods and nice job on the fish!

There are more, here's one I don't talk about. Got it after the winter set in and have not cast it yet :D

I'll do a better job of that once I have the reel that goes with it :)
Ard, this is beautiful tackle porn but you left me wanting more. What is it?

All I got is that the secret rod is some sort of down-locking two-hander...

Nice pics ard, I like the feather back ground for the rods/reels.

Dan the Meiser is a beautifull rod, as well as the others in the pic. None of mine are anything close, al stockers, no custom work....yet.:D

My Scott G2 8'8" 4wt with a Bauer MSL .5 mounted on it.

Scott S4 10' 5wt with a Bauer MSL1

And the one that started it all, my St Croix Imperial 9' 4/5 with a System2 56L that I got for my 14th b-day(94'). I caught a ton of fish on this rod, everything from gill's to bass, trout, and even a few catfish.

I'll get a few more up soon, I should be able to get a shot or two tomorrow on the river.

I should probably add the next to the bottom rod in the first picture I posted. It's my 5 wt 9' 4 pc. I built on a blank from a manufacturer that only makes blanks. No complete rods. It was a really nice spendy type blank they made before the decided the quality stuff just wasn't moving fast enough and to the dogs on me. Therefore I will be nice and not name the blank manufacturer. I'm so dang happy I got this from their good old days. I love this rod. As far as single hand rods go, I use it more than any other rod I own. I've caught just a ton of Smallmouth with it. I got my first Walleye record with it as well. I should go apologize to it for treating it like the proverbial 'red headed step child' in my first post. :p

You can't see it very well in this photo, but it's one of the reasons I love the rod.

That's a seriously black Walleye isn't it?
