Grey's GS 10 8wt Opinions Wanted

I'm thinking of getting a Grey's GS 10 8wt with a Echo Ion 8/10 reel lined with Wulff Ambush TT for use up here in Central NY and the Lake Ontario tribs. For those of you who have used this rod, what are your impressions?

What I have is an old Grey's Platinum X 9'6" 7 weight. Those were wonderful rods...........so I would suppose the #8 in a 10 footer will be really nice to fish with also. Is the rod a good deal?

I think so. Rod, reel, line, backing, spooled for $275 + tax. I figure it is about $35 to $40 under retail.

You shopped around right? I figure a rig under 300 that is ready to fish is a good deal. Of course there's always the under 150 jackpot deal but they are usually the result of long hard shopping and multiple sources of gear. There's something to be said for all at once under one roof or web site.

I put the deal together. It wasn't something that the shop advertised. I've been going there for many years, so he's giving me a discount.
