I was just wondering what the difference between a male and female rod is? Does it matter? Thanks for all the feedback everyone!

A female rod is so temperamental.

Doesn't matter what the actuality is, the female rod will always be wondering if her grip makes her reel seat look fat.

(someone clue me in, with regards to fly fishing - male rod? female rod?)

Are there specific examples you are looking at? Two things I'd guess are slightly thinner grip and the stripping guide a bit closer to the grip assuming that on average women's hands are smaller and arms aren't quite as long. Beyond that don't know.

The Clymb did advertise a series of 'womens rods'...smaller grips,,,not sure what other ladies features. That's the only 'lady rods' I've heard of.
I do not remember the brand name of these rods either.

I disagree. You can tell a female rod anything, but the female rod only hears what it wants to hear.

Okay, that makes sense. smaller grips and a first stripping guide a bit closer.

Female rods are only useful 3 weeks a month, think about that one.
