I have heard nothing but great things about ONE in #6 and 7. I fished a guides ONE#9 tough and did not care for it. As, you know, John, I am into contemporary light and responsive 6-weights for big water dry fly applications and between ONE, Method, Radian, NRX and, I suspect, forthcoming Hardy Wraith, there is a rack full of really terrific 6-weight rods...just avoid that awful GPX!
"This rod [ONE#5] has a medium-fast action and slower than I like. I’m not that hot on the 9 foot #5 in this model, but the Sage One in 8'6" #4 is an exceptionally nice rod that a lot of my friends, that are very good anglers, use and like." G. Anderson 2015 5-Weight Shootout
I'm glad George likes the #4 and #6 but the descriptive sentence quoted above does not sound like the same rod I go fishing with. "Medium-fast and too slow"? Is this man doing recreational drugs or did he get a defective sample?
