I hope to get the rod out this weekend. I have lawn cast it now, and it certainly is different from any other rod in my quiver, with its combination of length, line weight, material, and power and line speed. I fished my Scott F2 this last weekend, which is a sweet little rod, but this Epic feels very different. It retains a lot of what fiberglass is famous for, but gives you more oomph than traditional glass rods. This little gem could be an extremely versatile and fun rod to fish. And it looks outrageously cool. If only I were better at applying finish!!
You have the F2 703 correct? How’d you fish it? Single dry?

Yes, the 703. I fished it with a single dry. Caught mostly small fish this weekend, but did catch one feisty brown of 12+", who did something I've never seen before. I caught him in a meadow stream. As he was running around and jumping, he jumped right out of the water and into the grass!! He had to clear a 1' bank to do it. I quickly and gently pulled him back into the water, where I stripped him in and released him.

I really like fishing mine with a small beetle or ant pattern.
