I'd suggest adding the Redington Classic Trout to your rods-under-consideration list. The 3 wt comes in 7'6", 8' (6 piece) and 8'6" lengths. The CTs are nice rods generally--they cast much better than the $150 price suggests--and IMO the 3 wts are the sweet spot of the lineup. I don't know if you can find one at this point, but the Winston BIII-LS 3 wt is supposed to be really nice (I've cast other wts in the lineup and have been quite impressed) and closeout prices have generally been around $500, so just a bit above the cost of the rods listed in the opening post.
