Rod repair

I have a 50-ish year old bamboo pole that was my grandfather's. It needs some work in order for it to be fishable. I'm trying to find someone local to the mid atlantic (I live in Baltimore) who might be able to repair it for me without costing me an arm and a leg. I guess if there was someone trustworthy I'd be willing to ship it instead of going local too...

Anybody know of anyone who might be able to help?

I suggest that you contact some local fly and general tackle shops and ask about area craftsmen that handle that kind of work.
Here in CT, my fishing partner repairs a half a dozen or so rods every week that he brings home from a large urban tackle shop.
Everything from collectible cane to surf rods.
I'm sure there are a number of such people in your area do the same and the shops most likely know most of them.
