Thread: Thomas and Thomas fly rods

  1. Default Thomas and Thomas fly rods

I don't seem to hear much discussion about Thomas and Thomas fly rods compared to the other high end manufacturers (maybe lack of availability in fly shops). Does anyone have experience with how their slower/medium rods (Paradigm and LPS/WhisperLite) compare to Winston's WT/BIIt or Scott's G2 or Sage's ZXL?

can't tell you how they compare but can tell you in my mind (and many many others'), thomas and thomas rods are excellent in reputation with a heritage including fine bamboo fly rods. great medium action rods (for the models you listed though they have faster ones too) with near perfect human craftsmanship in assembly. it's a rod to be proud of and pass on assuming you don't hate the way it fishes. or so i've gathered.

Agree with that. they still make bamboo also. i have a 10 wgt for salt down here and it is great to look at and great to fish with. if i don't hate my kids too much later, one will inherit it.
