Joni, thanks for hosting as well as putting together all of this info with pics and recipes. By far the best swap I've been in and I haven't even received my flies yet! And that sow is the best I've seen yet. Can't wait to tie some up and get on the Provo with that bad girl. Thanks for sharing.

You have inspired me to post a thought to all who visit here. Perhaps organizing an on-line posting swap where someone does just what you did, but the pics and recipes are all posted on the fly tying board, no mail or exchanges. Not that I'm trying to do away with traditional swaps, I love them and the flies I receive never do get fished, they get saved and displayed. I imagine there may be some out there who are just to shy to participate in a traditional swap, or there are other factors that make it difficult or impossible to participate. But they may jump at the chance to do one with pics and recipes. Just a thought.

I just copied and pasted your entire post here in my fly recipes file in Word. This is valuable info to me and will be referred to often.

Anyhoo, now back to your regularly scheduled program...

I fish, therefore I am - but I gotta go to work first..."piscari ergo sum"

    OMG, what a great idea.
Buy the way, all flies went out this morning, so with the exception of Chris (who knows though, mail to NZ might be faster than I think) Everyone will be able to fish them this weekend.
    I know I am!

Great work Joni, I apologize for not including my recipe. I knew I needed it so no excuses, it's my fault.

Cant wait to see them and I'll give them a go this weekend. BTW, I have your furled leaders on all my rods now. Thanks

    Best Regards, Boser

    Joni,

Another great Chironomid/Scud swap! Really nice patterns from everyone and the variety of scuds is impressive. Thanks!

I really like that Blue Buzzer pattern of yours; it will see a lot of water time when it arrives. I'm thinking fished deep on a sunny day

I can't believe that you put it all together and got the flies out the door in less than 5 weeks. When did you say you're running your next swap?

    Joni,

Thanks a bunch for hosting, and for letting me in late. Great flies everyone!
Recipe for the Crispy Critter is:
    Gold Bead
    Size 14 mustad (94840)
    Thread: Danville 6/0 Waxed Tan
Rib: UTC Small gold Holo Tinsel
Back: 1/8 in Dark Olive Scud Back (SK8901)
Dubbing: SLF Prism Rusty Brown (SLP051)

Sorry I forgot to add it to the tag (guess I went a bit too fast when I put them together).
