Rabbit Strip

Hook: Mustad 3407DT size 2/0
Thread: Danville's Flat Waxed Nylon, red for rear of hook and white for front of hook. Starting with red thread
Weed guard: 6" of 30 lb Mason hard Monofilment tied in along top of shank and bound down a rear of hook well down into bend of hook. Leave excess extending out of rear of hook.
Antifouling guard: 3" of 30lb Mason hard mono. Melt one end over flame to form ball of melted mono. Measure an approximately 7" rabbit strip from the 1/3 point at front of shank to approximately 1" beyond bend of hook. Using a bodkin, puncture the rabbit hide strip and run mono through hole so that melted end remains on fur side of strip. Secure mono to top of shank so that approximately 1" of hard mono extends from rear of hook. Do not bind down rabbit strip at this point. This 1" of hard mono running through the rabbit strip will help prevent fouling around the hook point.
Body: Slip Silver Mylar tubing over hook shank and bind down at rear of hook shank above barb of hook with red thread.
Tail: Bind down rabbit strip directly over rear tie down point for Mylar tubbing and whip finish and tie off red thread.
Front of body: Start White thread and tie down front of Mylar tubing.
Tail/Wing: Bind down front of Rabbit strip
Flash: Tie in one strand of Silver Saltwater Flashabou along each side
Throat: Pink Marabou Blood Quill
Collar: Silver Doctor Blue Marabou Blood QUills, one on each side.
Weed guard: Bring trailing end of 30lb mono forward forming loop from rear of hook bend up and around point of hook and bind down on underside of hook shank. Run excess mono up through eye of hook and bind down on top of hook shank.
Head: Whip finish and tie off
Eyes: Apply stick on prismatic eyes to thread head and cover with several coats of Sally Hansens Hard as Nails, Epoxy or other thick coating. Bug Bond cured with UV flashlight used here.
Fire Tiger with bucktail, yak and SLF

Hook: Mustad 3407DT size 3/0
Thread: Chartreuse Danvile's Flat Waxed Nylon
Keel: Several wraps of .030" diameter nontoxic wireat rear of hook descending into bend of hook. This will serve as a keel to help the fly track correctly ion the water when retrieved.
Tail: Yellow Bucktail
Flash: Gold Flashabou
Rear cage: Yellow bucktail on bottom of shank and chartreuse bucktail on top reverse tied (tips pointing forward, then both layers of bucktail brough rearward and tied down to form a "hollow flye" cage. This technique is used to produce structural support for SLF and Yak fibers to produce a fly that is lightweight and relatively sparse, but has a big profile in the water
Rear underside of hook: Yellow SLF tied in by the middle and folded with 1/2 of hank running down along each side as a belly
Rear, topside of hook: Chartreuse SLF tied in by middle and each 1/2 tied along either side of the hook shank to form top
Middle cage: same as rear
Middle underside of hook: SLF same as rear, followed by yellow yak hair, also tied in same way.
Middle topside of hook: Chartreuse SLF tied in by middle and both 1/2's tied back over top of hook (not along sides as previously), Chartreuse yak tied in same way.
Front Cage: Tied the same way except using Orange bucktail on bottom, Black bucktail on top.
Front under side of hook: Orange SLF tied in by middle, with half along each side of hook.
Top of hook: Black Yak tied in by middle and each half folded over top.
Head: Thread
Eyes: Prismatic stick on eyes followed by coating of several layers of Sally Hansen' s Hard as Nails, Epoxy etc. Bug Bond cured with UV flashlight used here.
