My local Fly Shop recommended Clouser-style flies for Shad; along with other thinly dressed, but bright flies.

So, I'm in with a white & red Clouser on either a #6 or #8 gold hook.

Sign me up. I have never tied a Clouser pattern before so this should be fun. I have no idea on what I will tie so give me a little time to figure that out. I've been holding off joining trying to give some of the other members a chance to jump in on a fly swap.

Glad your in Larry! Best part of this swap is you can create your own pattern.

    Alright, I'm in...
... with a Borski Slider.... a fly usually associated with redfish and bones.
And as most people wouldn't be interested in saltwater flies, I'll make 'em "bass style"

I know that it's a bit of a stretch calling this a "Clouser style fly", but we can't all be tying the same thing

I'm in. The Clouser has been very good to me. I tie them chartreuse and white, with gold flashabou and 1/40oz lead eyes. I use Tiemco #10 popper hooks, which is actually bigger than it sounds, and its wide gap allows for easy hooking with large smallmouth.

This one is wet and well-worn, but I do tie them sparse. (This Clouser is tied on a #10 Mustad 3X hook, but you get the idea)

    The Pay-Off:

I walked over to my tying table right after I hit "Submit", and remembered there were still some of the zillion beginning Clousers I tied last year hanging off my vise. I burn through Clousers so much, that last year I decided to go production method. I use CA glue to secure the eyes, and even a dab to keep the bucktail in place (in front of the eyes). I snapped the pic with my cell phone....

As Larry, I never tied one. I'll give it a shot.
