He's in the second swap, with a Muddler Minnow pattern.

There's bound to be some confusion with two same-pattern swaps going at the same time. I'll get it all straightened out when I have received all of the flies........at least that's the plan....................

Ok flies are tied. Just have to put some to tags on them.

Anything else? Been a long time since my last swap

    Sounds good, brookfieldangler.

Flies, toe-tags, self-addressed return envelope and either postage or cash for postage. That's it.

Please also either post the recipe for your fly to the thread or write it out and include it in the package that you send to me.

    oops,

    Light Spruce tying recipe:

Hook: Your choice, I used a #8 streamer hook for the swap flies, I left the barbs but crimp mine shut when fishing for trout.
    Thread: Black
    Tail: Three peacock sword fibers
Body: Red floss or silk for 2/3 of the hook shank with the front 1/3peacock herls wound three thick.
Wing: A matched pair of golden edged badger saddle hackles
Collar: A golden edged badger hackle wound 4 or 5 turns and tied back as you finish the head.

    Finished flies look like this;

This is a good fly for a relaxing time just exploring the heads of pools & runs, fish them quartered across and down allowing the current to swing them through the holding waters. They will imitate many small fish that inhabit streams all over the country and are also effective for steelhead if you have them nearby.

Hook - Any straight shank streamer hook. I tied the ones for this sway on a TMC 5263 size 6 as I like the 3x long shank and 2x heavy wire.
Thread - UTC 140 matching color
Tail - Olive barred rabbit strip.
Body - olive cactus chenille with remaining tail strip tied over the top (think zonker fly)
Head/thorax -EP Tarantula Hairy Legs Brush 1" Wide Sculpin.

There are so many options with this pattern! You can tie them weightless, like the swap flies are, or you can weight them with lead wraps or eyes.

You can add gills, fins, etc...

For a fantastic crayfish pattern, simple tie in some lead eyes at the hook eye and use 2 rabbit strips as the claws.

Thanks for the recipes, guys. That makes the picture/recipe post that I'll put up at the end of this swap, much easier.

Ard, your Light Spruce pattern streamers showed up in today's mail. They look great; better than in your pic (and they look good in your pic!)!

So, that's two sets of flies in so far; and 7 days to go to the November 1 deadline.
