Tomahawk hacking

I just purchased a Fishpond Tomahawk and was dismayed at how few thread spools I could pack into the tubes. So I did some google-fu and found 12"x1.25" tubes, SKU 20-1225 and the caps, SKU 00-0033 at jcdanczak.com. Not cheap, because they really ding you on the shipping. I bought some 3M velcro to attach the tubes to the felt(?).
