I just started tying this year, tied maybe 50 of all sorts of varieties so far, and I'm loving this new hobby! Question for you experienced tiers out there:
When tying a pattern where you need to preen back hair/fur/whatever, a lot of the time I catch my thumb on the hook point. i.e. spinning hair, and preening back not just the hair on top, but also in the hook gap.
Does anybody cover their hook point with something while tying patterns like this? Maybe a little piece of cork, silicone, something like that? Guessing I'm not the first knucklehead to have this problem, and I bet somebody smarter than me has a solution.
Thanks in advance!
