    Default What to do with - Unclaimed Prize Poll;

    The December Raffle was won by post number 21. The poster has not returned to the forum since posting to the Raffle thread.

    I have sent multiple e-mail through the PM system to the winner but have not had a reply. In other words I have no address to send the Double leather reel case to.

    Kind of a bummer really and the question I want to put to a vote is ............

    1. Should there be a 30 day limit for claiming raffle prizes when notified of winning? After 30 days draw a second number.

    2. Should the time limit from drawing be shorter, 14 days to send address and claim prizes.

    3. Prize should be held up to 1 year and wait for winner to return to forum or check their e-mail.

    The bummer is; I thought this would be fun for the members, the winner was a new member in 2013 and logged on the day he posted to the thread 12/16/2013. Since then has never checked back in and I have sent 3 e-mails.............

    Situation is: tried to give something away and failed. Please vote on poll, I will draw another number if that is what the majority thinks should be done. This was not meant to be something that would be a pain in the butt for me but it seems to be looking like it is.

    I'd say 30 days is enough after you shoot a PM (which I am know you did), and announce it on the thread. Just add that limitation to future raffles and don't stress it a bit as this will likely happen again.

    Ard, 14 days is plenty of time to wait. Also think the prizes should be limited to non-senior members as we know who you are and your capabilities as a guide from the advice and threads you post. (why I haven't added my name to your raffle)

    I was going fly fishing until my wife suggested it, now I can't tell who is outsmarting who!

    Being "one with nature" requires a knowledge of what animals are living nearby and a weapon of sufficient magnitude to give you at minimum an equal chance of survival. No one has an invisible aura that animals can detect and sense your good intentions.

    Ard: I like Dave's recommendation, 14 days is plenty, especially since you sent PM's.

    Ard,

    14 days gets my vote. The content on the forum alone should be reason to check back every couple of days. I suppose sometimes life happens and can get in the way of things but you need to draw the line somewhere.

    My plan, if I'd won the December drawing, was going to be to in one way or another get it to a deserving noob. I like Dave's logic on trying to get the prize in the hands of someone new. New to fly fishing or new to the forum. Whatever works

    14 days is sufficient.

    As you well know Ard there are lots of people who will register on a whim (as I did) but then not come back (why did I keep coming back?). Don't beat yourself up about failing to give something away, you didn't fail, the other guy did.
