I got this rod for my birthday a few weeks ago ,it’s a 10’ 5 wt The dark olive blank is nice with unusual section line up marks.I found the reel seat a bit flashy but my friends loved it,the bicolor handle is beautiful.I like fishing with 9’ or 10’ rods even in small overgrown creeks.I first used it with a SA gpx wf5f and a Cordel reel.I must admit I was a bit disappointed and didn’t feel at ease .As I underline most of my rods ,I then tested it with a SA Supra dt4f and a Vivarelli reel.I thought maybe this reel wouldn’t balance the rod well but I was wrong,it did.I fished both on dry and light nymph,it worked great!I could cast flies and nymphs right on the fish nose and in difficult places with great precision. It can rollcast at a very good distance, the length of the rod makes mending very easy as well and fishing pocket waters is really a delight for you can keep the line out of the water.I used 5,6 and 7 X tippets and could land some nice fish (bows up to 16” and 3 pounds chubs) without any problem. Last point this rod is not tiring at all, I could fish non stop for hours easily. So by the way of conclusion I really enjoy this rod and I think it’s hard to beat in this range of price.
