Default A problem with my Scientif Angler mastry GPX

I just put a 6wt mastry gpx on my rod about a month ago and have a large cut about two inches behind the welded loop. I have fished with this line twice and have not had any major snags nor have i banged it up against rocks or anything. Is my line shot? Any recourse or methods of repair? Im not crazy about loosing two inches of the head!

Two inches is nothing .... cut it off and retie
I routinely 'customize' my lines to fine tune to the rod action, cutting as much as 8 or 10 inches off.
Don't worry about 2"...you might even like it better

You should have a level section at the tip longer than 2". Lop it off, it shouldn't change the line much at all.
