Like Joe D says it's a important cause and membership is free.
Earlier this year there was a bill introduced here in the CT state legislature that proposed a local commercial striped bass season.
This would have been devastating to area recreational fishing and would have actually cost the state more money than any income it generated.
Because of the efforts of Stripers Forever and the networking of it's membership, the bill was killed in just a few days
Similar efforts are made constantly from Maine to the Carolinas including recent aid in the prosecution of poachers in New Jersey, Maryland, and Virgina.
