Default Native fish Society work party on the lower Deschutes.

Not sure how many of your folks are members, or live in/around the Deschutes River in North Central Oregon. But the following is from today's e-mails; a good way to "Pay it Forward? If you can help, I rather doubt they'd care if you were a member or not.

Volunteer Opportunity -- Rolling barbed wire and pulling fence posts on the Lower Deschutes

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY
Dear NFS Member,

Want to lace up your boots and roll some wire? Well this is your chance.

May 20th-22nd a group of volunteers will be heading out to the Lower Deschutes River to pull fence posts and roll barbed wire in partnership with ODF&W.

This work project will be weekend long. Plan on bringing camping equipment and refreshments. Food will be provided. If you cannot make it by the evening of Friday, May 20th, arriving early on Saturday, May 21st will work as well.

To sign up call:
503.297.4338
503.496.0807

Warmly,
Native Fish Society Staff

Hello Fred, I am curious about where the post and barb wire is coming from? Did the fish and game purchase some new property?

It was either some acquired land or removing fencing from what used to be a live stock grazing area on state lands. Lots of that in Oregon.

It would be a good thing to volunteer for, if i had the time to get away to do so.
