  1. Default Love these reels

Allen Trout reels are about all I use anymore. They are so smooth, and drag is great, plus they look so darn good:

Right On Justin and Evan! Can't wait to see the blue, and think about BURNT ORANGE...that would look killer on my boo...LOL

Nice piggy there Joni. I love my Allen reels too. Got a Trout 5/6 and an Alpha 3/4. Excellent reels.

    Hi Joni,

That red reel looks good. I think the Trout model is his best reel.

    Hi Joni,
Do you have any pics of the Trout reel with the spool removed?

Is there any play between the reel and spool? I have a Pfleuger Trion and Summit... the Trion is fine, good reel, but it's a 3/4. The spool on the Summit wobbles all over the place and makes it feel pretty cheap. It fits a ton of backing, it works for now and looks the part; but I am thinking of replacing it with something better.

    Frank here it is:

oregonism, no play what so ever, no gap. Nice fit for sure. I do have a reel that there is just enough of a gap for my tippet to come out the connection and it gets all tangles around the hub, but not these reels. I fish 30' of 6lb fluoro on these and it stays on the spool. These are truly a great quality reel.

    Hi oregonism,

I have a Trout 5/7 and there is no play at all. It is just rock solid and smooth, smooth.
