I prefer fox tail hair or coyote tail on Clousers smaller than a size 2, rather than bucktail. Both are much finer hair & has a better action to it IMO.

I do a clouser style leach with black marabou. I loop dub everything forward of the bend.
I like ostrich herl for Clousers if I'm tying it as a leech, doesn't matt up like marabou sometimes does & no need to dub, just tie as you would bucktail, except it should be tied pretty full. Once it gets wet it really tends to slim down.

Just two different ways to tie a similar pattern.

Ostrich also works well for tails on buggers.
Remember, no one likes to be behind the big truck, but that's better than being under it!

Halloween wigs make for great synthetic hair
And you can pick them up for a song right now

Yes they are and yes you can. I should have started earlier shopping for them though. I saw a glow in the dark wig I want badly and now I can't find one.

One of my most useful wigs that I use is a long black witches wig with glow-in-the-dark streaks

Grass, hit your local craft shops and look at the various fake fur materials; see what will work for the flies you want. A lot of these materials will be the same as the high priced item at the fly shop. The nice thing is you can lay hands on them and compare the different materials.

Rip! You're a lot younger looking than I had pictured! I love Halloween stuff.
