Eunan, that's rough, sorry to hear about the change! Was hoping to get to meet you in person, but another time then! You'll have to come to Buffalo for some spring steelhead, but if not I'll see you in Philly Labor Day weekend for the Gaelic Nationals.

Homer, the red was caught while down in Sarasota over the holidays, they are definitely fun fish to catch!

And can't complain about beer meeting me at the show! I'll see you on Sunday, Swirl!

I might be able to do Buffalo, and i'm hoping to make it up to the West Branch of Delaware at the start of the season for some action if you're interested in a float trip there....we'll work something out i'm sure.

Stop by the Allen booth and say hi to Justin and I! I'd say come by and have a beer with me at the booth... But that could turn in to a looooooooong, interesting weekend if too many people take me up on that

We'll have all of our rods up for demo, so let's hit the casting ponds!

Any early reports from anyone at the show in Somerset? I'll only have 4 or 5 hours to see it all tomorrow, and I'm just wondering if there have been any "must see" attractions identified.....

I wasn't there Friday but I got an earfull from the guys last night over a few beers. The show seemed to be geared less towards saltwater than it has the past few years. Sage/Redington didn't show up! St. Croix only showed up with a handfull of flyrods (no Legend Elites to cast).
I never like to see an industry suffer but maybe we will be getting some relief from overpriced rods as it seems top manufactures are feeling some pain. I'll be there all day Sunday, if anyone wants to track me down you can text me at 1.718.619.5148.

Got home a few minutes ago, as I had to be back for a long-standing obligation tonight.... As a newbie to fly fishing and tying, all I can say is WOW!!!!

Spent better than 4 hours, just cruising from booth to booth. Also "spent" more cash than I intended, but I was able to get everything on my shopping list (plus a few extra things), shecked out some waders, watched the casting demos for a while, and had a GREAT time! It was notable, some of the vendors who went out of their way to help a newbie like me find materials on my list. Others were either too busy, or just had people working registers with no one there to "work" or help shoppers.

So for next year, I plan for multi-day, plan to get to some of the seminars, and i'll have a much better idea of eactly what the show is!

Thank you to all that gave mo pointers on things to make sure that I saw!!

Just got back home - spent over 6 hours there with my son - had a good time - saw some cool stuff - sat in on Lefty's seminar (excellent) - can't say we came across any killer deals, but it's great to see all things fly fishing under one roof (or two) -didn't see an Allen booth - sorry I missed it if they were there -

I just got back from the show. I was at the CJTU booth & the project healing waters booth. saw some people that I hadn't seen since last year. I took in 2 seminars on bonefishing & enjoyed both of them. talked to Bob Jacklin & A.K for awhile & watched Lefty Cast , always a pleasure, I finally met Justin @ Allen Flyfishing & spoke to him & Eric for a while. I had planed on getting back there to try out their 11 ft switch rod but got stuck in the booth & before I realized it the show was over. All in all i think it was a very good show. If any one goes Sunday stop in at the CJTU booth in the lobby & pick up Ozzie's videos. He's running a special. In Lefty's seminar even he raved on about Ozzie's videos.
A you walk in the door, on the right, North Chapter is raffling off a nice kayak, You can donate but I'm sure I bought the winning ticket ( heh heh).
Also ck out the Colonial Angler in the lobby, he's the guy that inspired me to try tying without a vise. I've since given up that foolishness.

Usually I stay around Norm's booth ( Nor Vise ) but he wasn't there this year. I like to watch his big hands tie a 20 fly on the big vise. Every year he shows me how & I go home take out the Nor vise & tie my fingers to the vise & put it away again.
