Thread: gorrilla glue ants

  1. Default gorrilla glue ants

Within the last two years there was an article in one of the fly fishing magazines about making gorrilla glue ants,do any of you know what magazine that was and what month it came out? I want to try making some and am thinking I could order a back issue to get the instructions. Thanks, Dan

Fly Tying: How To Make The Gorilla Fly! - YouTube

Click on the link and it will open a utube video on how to make them.

I was going fly fishing until my wife suggested it, now I can't tell who is outsmarting who!

Being "one with nature" requires a knowledge of what animals are living nearby and a weapon of sufficient magnitude to give you at minimum an equal chance of survival. No one has an invisible aura that animals can detect and sense your good intentions.

I've made up a bunch of them in different colors, Black, red, orange & they work. I put a light hackle & on some of them I put wings. they float in the film like an ant & i've caught a lot of fish on them

No but I make a Gorilla Glue mayfly (tiny white one) I use for Mooneye. They are tough as nails and float like a cork. See the fly in the bottom right corner.

Nice looking ties Dan. You've got me thinking that I should experiment with a mayfly pattern for smallies. It won't be long now before the White Flies start hatching. Thanks for your response.

Another thought, GG might make some nice larger extended body flies, then color them up to suit your hatch to match.
