What do you all recomend for a DT5. Any experience with the Cortland 444 peach? Give me some ideas folks! I want good flotation, durability, and all that good stuff. Its going on my primary trout rod so it will see a lot of use!

    Hi Coop,

I have a bunch of Scientific Angler Mastery DT lines in either gray or olive. They are of moderate cost and from all that I can report are fine lines.

i really like the airflo ridge fly lines. very slick casting and very supple.
another one i've had luck with is the sage performance II lines(made by rio).

    JP,

Can you tell we're old guys SA all the way, DT lines always, stuck in their ways... etc.

Won't tell anything....we're used or second hand(not sure second is the right word)...but nearly mint condition

Back in the UK we were very well served by small producers who sell good quality cheap lines. I used Cortland 333s until these guys got my money. For a dryfly line I would choose a Wildfisher Heron DT but a Barrio is just as good. Don't be fooled by the prices (1.63 dollars to the pound BTW) these are no frills lines but the frills are marketing and packaging.

    Barrio Fly Lines

If there was enough interest I would get some sent over. I should also say at this point I have no financial connection with any of these three guys although I have met them personally.

I do need lines myself as I didn't bring nearly enough tackle over when I moved here (no surprise there eh?) so I intend to get some sent over anyway. If anyone else is interested post here or pm me and I will think it over.

I definitly enjoy the DT I picked up and its yet another SA Mastery in buckskin but the good old 444 feels pretty good on my lighter rods as well, tons of control.

Just got the SA Mastery for my wife's rod, and I got to admit its pretty nice. I'll probably go with that for my new 5wt, or maybe even the Wulff Ambush.
