Differnce in rod lengths

I made a thread before that i was looking for a new salmon/steel head rod and I have been looking at this one model:

Cabela's LST Series/CSR Fly Combos


my question is that what are the differences of the length of the 9' 8wt and the 9'9" 8wt in the way they handle and cast etcetera. Also what kind of conditions would would you need to have different lengths like that.

So basically any kind of differences you can tell me between the two.

In general, 9' 8wts are preferred by saltwater anglers because they work better than a longer rod to throw tight loops into the wind, create high line speed by their stiffness, and throw more accurate casts.

9'6" 8wts are the standard single handed steelhead rod because the added length helps with mending, reach casts, and roll casts. Added length can also help keep the line out of the water when wading deep.
