    Default New Toy

I had some store credit at the shop from selling some old rods and tying some local patterns, so I decided to burn it on a new rod. Since my most important "want" is a second striper rod, I bought myself a Hardy ProAxis 9 foot 8 weight.

I matched it up with a Waterworks Force 3X SL. It will most likely spooled up with a Scientific Anglers Mastery Textured Streamer Express (300 grain). If I need to get on the water, I have a spare Airflo Depth Finder (300 grain) line.

The rig will probably see its first day on the water in about two weeks.

"To go fishing is the chance to wash one's soul with pure air, with the rush of the brook, or with the shimmer of sun on blue water. It brings meekness and inspiration from the decency of nature, charity toward tackle-makers, patience toward fish, a mockery of profits and egos, a quieting of hate, a rejoicing that you do not have to decide a darned thing until next week. And it is discipline in the equality of men - for all men are equal before fish."

A beautiful Rod,it's a shame I have too many now as either a 6 or 7 Wt would be a good acquisition,as I've been thinking for some time to buy a Hardy's,anyhow use it & enjoy it..

Congrats Dennis. She sure is a beauty. I've always admired Hardy's rods but always hesitated to purchase without being able to feel them as there are no dealers nearby. I always try to stop somewhere if were traveling but never seem to make it work out.

Gotta love a new rig and that one looks sweet Congrats on your newest addition to the quiver. Hopefully you'll give that setup a proper christening in the not so distant future.
