Default Well, I broke my baby last Friday...

I broke my favorite rod last Friday. My personally made 490 sp. I probably fish this rod more than any others. It has been a good rod to fish dry droppers on smaller streams and can still throw some indicator rigs when needed.

I think what is shocking to me is that I have been fishing this rod for twelve years. Man how does time fly. I know I have caught a ot of fish on this rod, and I know I will be able to replace it, but it is still like losing a trusted friend. It is funny how we can grow attached to our fly rods.

Hi Dave,

It's never good to hear about this but would you please enter the means by which it was broken here; http://www.theflyfishingforum.com/fo...ory-added.html

I'm trying to track this data, it's a sort of long term thing.

Thanks,

Ard

Dave, I felt the same way when I broke a 14 year old Sage last fall, got over it real quick when I got the new one with virgin cork, and the same serial #. milt.

Dave, I know you're a Sage guy and sorry to hear about the SP.
But refresh my memory, and tell me again what was it you won a couple months ago?

590 Sage one
490 Ross Rx

I loved that SP though. Like I said, it was my dry/ dropper, medium stream baby.

Can Sage replace the section if you strip it down and send it in?

On custom rods, Sage provides a new blank. It is the rod owner's responsibility to get it rebuilt.
