I hooked what I think was either a good sized catfish or a carp in a local pond today. Got a good hookset and handled several surges and drag screams, then stupidly clamped on the line as I switched the rod to my other hand.--he lunged at that very moment and broke off. Stoopid...

Yeah, happens to everyone occasionally. Just have to take it in stride. At least you had a good fight, that is more excitement than I have had on many trips.
