  1. Default Hello To everyone!

Hey to everyone, just became a member of this forum. Just wanted to say hello and share a little about ourselves. We are a small little production group (2 dudes) out of Alberta that bumb around Alberta and BC with fly rods, with whatever gas money we can come up with. We are non Profit. We just like to share fly fishing media with everyone else, because everyone loves a little fish porn.

Look forward to being a part of the community.

We already have one video out titled Alberta Alpine which has already been shared on this forum by a member, which is available for viewing on Vimeo (Our preferred platform) and on Youtube. We have a trailer for our upcoming, "not so short" film, All about chasing humpies on vancouver island. It is titled Hump days.

Hopefully this doesnt cross any lines (pun intended) with the forum.

    Have a good day.

    Adipose.

i cant for the life of me understand why directive links are removed from posts like this.

This forum is not the last stop for fly fishing content, in fact it is but a blip on the radar of fishing content on the web. If the video has already been linked to by another forum member (most likely removed too by the sounds of things), what is the harm in letting everyone have access to the direct link. If nothing else, making folks go searching is a pain in the a$$ when there is the facility right here to make direct links. Just because its fishing content that 'was not directly asked for in a post' does not make it advertising - its called sharing with the community

This is a community built on sharing, but is seems some moderators are hell bent on keeping it anything but that!

    BTW,

Welcome to forum, I hope you find it helpful in the limited capacity that it has fallen to - purely my opinion

All we really wanted to do was share. But i guess thats against the rules. If thats the way this forum is, then it seems like a waste of time. We intended no harm. Sorry for advertising, or whatever they would like to call it.

    Hi Guys,

Here's how it works, if you are a senior member with a relatively high post count and actively engaged in providing content that makes this a great forum............... some links are left alone.

Conversely, if your very first post seems like a promotional thread filled with links to sites that the poster is involved with........... those links are removed.

You are quite correct. The forum is a system for sharing information and it is a sort of community sharing information and answering questions posted by other members.

This forum is the result of years of having a presence on the web. We did not become as large or as popular as we are by visiting other forums and blogs and posting links to this web site! People find the forum on their own just like they will find other web sites. If someone registers with us and would like to use the forum as an advertising platform for anything; blogs, movies, product sales, guiding services, and etc. we have business memberships that are very affordable for these and other products. If and when those persons pay a nominal fee to advertise with us they then have the right to link our membership to whatever they want to promote so long as it meets with the guidelines of business memberships.

I totally understand, it was my fault having not made this clear. I have two accounts here, one is BH_flyfisher which i do use quite a bit and the has a high enough post count, which is what i shared my first Video with. There were no issues with that. So this is the same guy as the other account, but i will just be operating out of this account more to get my media out there, and my other account to aid with questions, fly tying, and other things. This account is strictly a messenger i guess you would say.

Sorry for the mix up, if you would like to reach me to discuss this more, you can PM me on this account or my other. I'd really like my links to be back on this thread.

Line one from above: "Hey to everyone, just became a member of this forum. Just wanted to say hello and share a little about ourselves." Post #1?

Being a Mod on other boards I can assure you we don't look 'kindly' on folks who use more than one log in name .... regardless of the reason.

Fair enough, that was a mistake on our part. If the need is still there to keep this hidden. Feel free. It was our mistake.

I've seen way too many "Hi, I just joined and wanted to say things are going great at ____ Lodge. Feel free to visit us at ___.com", etc type first posts. They push other threads off the page, and just leave me feeling kind of icky. I'm not saying that's the case here. I didn't see the links, but Ard is a fair guy (an all around good dude, actually ).

I'd say welcome, Adipose, but you said you're already a member...

P.S. "BH_flyfisher" is not a valid username on this forum. Just saying.....

This account is. I have this handle on many different forums, some with the underscore in between, some without. My mistake again. I'm a bit off recently. Struggling with a bit of a family crisis at the moment, a lot of things are out of wack.

    tight lines.

Well thats what i created my page for. I have a tiny bit of background in photography and do quite a bit of fishing so the two clash remarkably well. So even still if you ever want to check any of that out, feel free to check out my page. Not sharing everyone elses fly fishing media, just my own from Beautiful Alberta and British Columbia.

    sorry again,.
