I have 4 rods, 3 are inexpensive and then I have my Orvis Clearwater 5wt. As for the hunting, I think you got a great gun. The Remington would have been a great purchase as well. My father in law has a half dozen or so. Never had an issue. I have the Beneilli super nova myself. Shoots amazing. Good luck out there and be safe!

Two Redington Ct's.
St Croix Imperial
TFO, BVK
Thomas and Thomas
Orvis Access
Orvis Superfine
Eagle Claw cheapie glass
and intend soon to purchase the Orvis Superfine glass rod.

To this point I like my Superfine and CT's best. I give a slight edge in looks to the Superfine but the CT's are veryy nice rods too. Heck, I even like the 30 dollar Eagle Claw ! A fast action guy probably couldn't cast the thing but I can get a good amount of line out with it.

I just started fly fishing in July of this year, I just bought my third tfo. I think this addiction might take less time than crack. A 3wt,5wt and 8wt.

I have 2 fly rods + 1 Tenkara

Hardy Zenith 8wt 9ft
Redington Red Vapen 6wt 9ft replacing the 6wt 7'10" Predator.

Amago Tenkara USA

Maybe a Redington CT 5wt if I can't stay away from Cabelas's website.

About one rod a month since I started this addiction 3 months ago. Going to try to keep it at three.

Redington CT 3WT 7-6

St Croix Reign 5WT 9-0 (getting upgraded).

Redington CPX 8WT 9-0 ordered yesterday.

I think we did this awhile back too but my answer remains the same:

I own two cane rods but neither of them are high quality (they were given to me).
I own two Fenwick HMGs, both 6 weigts , both of which I built.
I own one Orvis, 4 wt.
One Cortland 6 wt.
Three Sage rods, 4 & 6 wts.
One Cabelas rod 7 wt. that a friend gave me.
Five Winstons, four 4 wts. and one 5 wt.

That makes fifteen fly rods total, 6 of them 4 wts.
Can one have too many four weights?
