Default Spool of line - kinked or twisted?

Hey, I know many of you have probably experienced this. Either right when you start pulling new line off of a spool, or sometimes toward the end of a spool you notice as you run the line through your fingers that it feels "kinked". What is this, and is the line compromised?

I've had a few spools of leader/tippet (actually just spools of mono and fluoro) do this and it drives me crazy. Is this something to worry about, or is it just twisted or something?

    Thanks,

When I take the line off of my bass, casting reels or get to the end of a large spool it is the same thing. If you are referring to the line taking on a sort of wavy feel, not rough but almost like it is indented. I have come to realize this occurs when a spool is stored tightly wound for a while the top layers of line leave an indent on the bottom layers where they overlap and cross unevenly. I dont actually know if it has any effect on the strength of the line though.
