The gold emblem says STH with a fish jumping. No idea on the packaging.
It's definitely a clip but I don't think a metal spring is good for fish hook sharpness. Weird eh?

It's a line clip. Clip it to your vest, shirt, chest hair, etc. Double over a section of line and slip it in between the spring openings. It keeps your line from floating away while changing flies, working on your rig, etc.

Lots of great ideas. I'm leaning towards the line clip TT described. It's a pretty neat gadget. The spring spacing can be adjusted by various holes on the plastic body. This thing could be used for a lot of things. Thanks guys. Vr
