Thread: Any fly shops in St Joe, MO?

Default Any fly shops in St Joe, MO?

I'm just wondering if anyone knows if there are any shops in St Joseph, MO that carry fly equipment. I don't want to have to go to Cabela's in Kansas City if I don't have to when I need to get any tying materials or leader materials. That and so I can go somewhere to play with all the new fly equipment. Thanks for any help.

I don't think so, I'm afraid. I'm living across the river from you in Atchison and feel your pain. There is a hobby lobby in St. Joe.

Cabelas is probably the closest place. There is a basspro in Independence another in Olathe, Kansas. There are a couple of shops in the KC area on the Kansas side. If you happen to end up in Lawrence, KS, there's a shop there.

There is K & K Flyfisher in Overland park. I love the place and anything over 30 bucks is free shipping. You could call them and I bet they would help you out a lot they are good people. Then there is Rainbow fly shop down in Independence, but I have never shopped there. But no there is nothing close to you.

I happened to remember people talking about a fly shop in Columbia and googled it. I didn't get a website, but did run into references to a clearwater fly shop. Maybe look up a phone number and give them a call.

Really anywhere down there that is a major trout area you will find a fly shop, I like going in there just to talk to people every now and then, since I am a loner type of fisher it is the only time I really talk to anyone before hitting the streams haha
