    Default Spring is Coming Soon

Here's a little tickler from the upper reaches of the St. Joe River in Northern Idaho.

The direction you take is less important than the steps you take to get there.

Perfect timing Joe, and a great pic to boot.

I was going fly fishing until my wife suggested it, now I can't tell who is outsmarting who!

Being "one with nature" requires a knowledge of what animals are living nearby and a weapon of sufficient magnitude to give you at minimum an equal chance of survival. No one has an invisible aura that animals can detect and sense your good intentions.

Great, thanks for sharing. Spring can not come soon enough, as we wait for our Blizzard on Friday in Mass

I look forward to Spring, but we need more snow in the mountains first!

And now all Nature seem'd in love,
    The lusty sap began to move;
New juice did stir th'embracing Vines,
And Birds had drawn their Valentines:
The jealous Trout, that low did lie,
    Rose at a well-dissembled flie:
There stood my Friend, with patient skill
    Attending of his trembling quill.
    Already were the Eves possest
With the swift Pilgrims daubed nest.
    The Groves already did rejoyce
    In Philomels triumphing voice.
The showers were short, the weather mild,
The morning fresh, the evening smil'd.
June takes her neat-rub'd Pale, and now
    She trips to milk the Sand-red Cow;
Where for some sturdy foot-ball Swain,
June strokes a sillabub or twain.
The Fields and Gardens were beset
    With Tulip, Crocus, Violet:
And now, though late, the modest Rose
Did more then half a blush disclose.
Thus all look'd gay, all full of chear,
    To welcome the New-livery'd year.

Okay, Joe - now you've gone and done it! Doggone it, I was just getting used to this nasty stuff and you just had to remind us all that there is something better on the horizon...

Okay then, I'll play. Here are a few from around where I live and fish:

Upper reaches of Harriman State Park, more fondly known as The Ranch:

    Millionaire's Pool - a classic scene:

And my favorite spring creek in the spring - Kelly's 'No-Tellum' Spring Creek:

Here's looking forward to warmer weather and rising trout!

    Best Fishes,

I fish, therefore I am - but I gotta go to work first..."piscari ergo sum"

+1, hoping for big spring snow... otherwise, I'm worried about big fires and dry streams
