Default Help me pick a new short rod

Well I'm wanting to pick up another rod 4wt or 5wt. Now I want this rod to be short some of the streams I go to r a pain to use a 8'6 rod in. So wanting something short and medium action. What would y'all recommend?

Budget? That's often a driving factor and will help folks make recommendations.

6'6" to 7'6". The rod action is up to you as its a personal preference. For me a like a rod with a light tip but a quick butt section, who knows what that's even called anymore.

Forgot to mention price! Somewhere below 300-400 would be nice!

For a shorter rod like that, I'd seriously take a look at 'glass. Steffan Brothers would be a good start.

I just got a 7'9" TFO Finesse in 3 wt for small wild streams. I absolutely love it! It's been a great rod so far!

I fish small canopy covered creeks and I too, use short rods. I have a 5wt that is a Cabelas rod that I think I paid $100 for. It was the only 6 or 6.5' rod I could find at the time. I have since found a 2wt 6' TFO Signature that is my everyday rod. I did over line it with a 3wt DT and I just love it. Fishing my 8'6" 5wt was an execise in frustration. I was always in the trees. If I remember correctly the 2wt was in the area of $120.

I have 2 of these. LINK
