    Hello everyone. I just became a member. Ive been wanting to get into flyfishing. Ive been looking at the Wild Water 5/6 or the 7/8 weight combo set. Im from South Georgia. The biggest thing im fishing for is crappie bream and small mouthe bass. Im gonna be fishing on ponds mostly. I didnt want to spend a lot on this in case thismisnt for me. I would appricate all the advise I can get. Thank you.

    Give us some time. The 7/8 will be fine if you are targeting bigger fish. The other would be good for trout and panfish, smallmouth etc. I'm not familiar with breem. The package looks solid although I really had never heard of them before i just googled them but a good starter at a "won't have to take a second mortgage" price. You could also check out Cabelas, I think they have a starter package also for a decent price. Good luck and this forum is a great place to post questions and successes.

    welcome to the forum patrick
    a 5/6 weight set up would work fine for what you're targeting.
    i took a look at the wild water starter package and, although i've never heard of them, it looks decent.
    you may also want to check out allen fly fishing.
    they are are sponsors here and offer some great gear

    Thanks casey will see what they have. What are the best knot I should be learning to tie. I use the uni knot on my other fishing gear.
