Best nippers I've ever bought iMO. Buy a bright color though, is sucks dropping a $100 hand painted nipper. When people call fly fisherman snobs, or purists, i agree for just one moment. Not that we're snobs or purists, but because its pride. I feel that fly fisherman are a prideful group of people. We know we're into a possibly very expensive sport/hobby/stress reliever/escape...... And were willing to pay for nice, quality, long lasting and finely crafted equipment. It just so happens that that equipment is usually made locally, by the same people they live next to or go to church with, or maybe even share a forum. I take pride when buying my equipment, it may even cost more but i know its made to last and perform. I buy local(state and USA) company stuff, though they may be corporate, their employees are neighbors and I support that. America has moved to overseas production for cheaper prices but hey, who doesn't like to save a few bucks. A lot of over seas stuff is great quality too, no disagreeing with that either. I just feel prideful when I'm fishing, and i just like to buy local or USA made. I don't know where i was really going with all this but that's my fraction of a cents work. I need to go fishing now... beautiful spring day in Vail, CO.

And that was where it started on the forum I keep mentioning. Now that subforum is gone, and there is a sticky at the beginning of every sub section that starts off Warning: New Rules so if you want to see this forum go to hell in a hand basket, just do that.

This was one of the few spots on the web that didn't just tick me right off. I do mind. If they are going to keep allowing one side to post BS without challenge it isn't. I'm ticked right now.

The Cubs have pulled out of last place! They are looking like a baseball team sometimes.

I unsubscribed from this thread a couple days ago ... I just really wish my boredom hadn't willed me to click it just now. My will power sucks, about as much as this thread. I hope that I can control myself and never look at this one again.

If my earlier post contributed to any of the bickering, I will apologize now. This wasn't my intent. I don't have have any political agendas, and do appreciate American made products, over the alternatives. At the same time, I was able to read though this thread without even developing a hint of anger. I honestly liked seeing everyone's opinions, many of which came across as much more informed than my own.

Different opinions are just a fact of life. Personally, I take pride in a catch and release philosophy. I have good friends who disagree with my approach. This does not affect our ability to debate the topic.

Controversy, will always remain apparent as long as this country still allows individual minds to express singular opinions.

Politics and religion have destroyed more friendships than anything I know. I, for one, would rather not see it here.

UNLESS of course,,they open season on politicians..!

That's not at all what you were "just sayin", but nothing wrong with back-peddling I suppose.

If true, you would think that you would have a better appreciation of quality... let alone your freedom.

As for the general feelings of "political threads" I think that they are a bad idea and they never end well. I didn't view this as a political thread... more like a pro-China, anti-American rant... and I must say, I am quite surprised how many of you took that "American worker spitting in food" comment lying down.

This is a ridiculous statement and the old saying about not discussing politics and religion at parties or dinners is silly.

Politics and religion are not evil bandits that come in to steal your friends. They are however a very big part of most people. They either define or describe a large part of a persons belief system and in many cases the very core of who they are.

It wasn't politics that broke up a friendship, it was the fact that they had different beliefs.
