    Default Forest fires we've got.

Visability is back down to less than a half mile. Blurb on morning TV, almost 8000 (Yes, EIGHT THOUSAND) fire fighters on the lines. One third of all 'air tankers' in the US now flying over SW Oregon dumping water.

Vollied at a food service place for 2.5 years where we put out 1,000 meals five day/week. (Freezer meals for Sat/Sunday were distributed.) Was a hell of a process. I can only guess what it would take to (logistics) turn out 8,000 two-three times per day for the crews. People need 3 to 4 thousand 'calories' per day; that is one hell of a lot of food.

All these People are exceptional! Fire crews and support. 'What would you like to eat?' TV film yesterday morning, the food service tents/tables were 'spotless.' Like clean, like long hours to keep it that way.

Then go back and cook more ....... The Heart Breaker was seeing fellows, with their heads on the table, sound asleep next to their plates.

    Hi Fred.
It's either Oregon Or Colorado that usually has annual Fires also as you say & From past experiences I can imagine The work in Preparing delivering & Feeding The Fire Personnel.
I remember The last major Fire we had out here where over 100 people lost their lives a Real Tragedy & something no one wants repeated.

Hear you Brian, we lost 19 a few weeks back, one last week. Big fire now going on in Kalifornia. Build where you shouldn't? Many homes now gone.

Can just see the out line of the hills a half mile way, and look 'up' and I can see blue sky. More T & L storms predicted for tonight. Last night, dozie and watching TV and a BOOM!! over the house. Bedroom light's up like a flash camera had gone off in the room.

Dog's off the top of the bed like he'd been shot out of a cannon. Found Sandy hiding in a closet. Took a lot of holding/hugging to get him settled down.

We have pretty much The Same Problems as well as nobody either wants to cut down trees to give Protection or The Local Powers won't let you even though The Mining Companies can push over what they like.
