Question Question on leaders for the White River Arkansas

I am reposting this here. I had it in the regional forum but wasn't getting responses. Thanks guys.

Going to the White River just below Bull Shoals Dam next weekend. I have been using 8# twisted mono and floro leaders on my 5wt recently with good success. I am wondering with the size of the trout in the white if I shouldn't bump the poundage up that my leaders are made from? I use a loop to loop connection between the leader and tippet. Thanks in advanced.

Depends on total strands if you end up with 8 pound at tippet end you are good I fish the white wit 4 and 5 x tippet no problems

It's two strands twisted then doubled over again, about 2/3 of the way and twisted again. So that the butt is 4 strands and the tippet end is the loop end of the two strand twist. Is that clear as mud?
