    Default Latest "custom" reel paint

I will call it custom just for the fact its a kinda crappy reel and its for me as a practice. Its No DeYoung Abel but it looks good enough for my 2wt that'll keep it around for a bit.

Let me know what ya think.

    Nice,

I mean that, nice. There's something about a persons first works in art that have a special snap to them and I'm seeing it in this paint job.

    Nice,

Thanks. Paint is not my normal medium, I prefer colored pencil but you cant really do that with a reel ha.

You're good, 7'6" 2wt CT. It is very possibly my new favorite. My 3wts are pretty dear to me so for to edge them out is pretty good.

Thats very cool! Being an artist myself, you just a kicked a door open in my mind! What kind of paint did you use for this, and did you put some kind of clear coat over it? I assume you used an airbrush to get that even color blending in the background?

Nice job man. I've done quite a bit of painting (both in the art realm and as a trade) and I know that wasn't any easy project to solve. And it looks good!

That looks great. I have a cheap plastic reel that I may have to have my wife look at painting up for me.

I would have used my airbrush.....if I could find it. The background is automotive spray paint. I've gotten pretty good with using it in a can. The detail paint is nail polish. It dries hard and fast, and lays down a lot of color on the first pass. Cover it all with a few coats of clear at the end and bingo, all done.

Did the same for this and its holding up for over a year
