Thread: Thread Editing

  1. Default Thread Editing

Maybe I'm not looking in the right place.... but how the heck do I edit my threads? I see no edit option anywhere on my posts....?

After posting this topic an edit icon appeared in the lower right hand corner. However I can't edit my replies to others topics.

If you have posted something after it shows up on the forum there is a way to edit the thread. It even asks you to give a reason why you edited it.

On the bottom right there is a place to edit.

However, I think because of the fact your cookies are cleared (or atleast the message says so) when you logg out you may nto beable to. I just tryed leaving this thread and coming back to it after looking at a past posting I did. I was able to edit this but not the other. So that may be the reason.

    Hi AnglerJS74,

After you make a post you only have a short time to edit and then you can't edit after that time period. I think it is about 30 minutes, it may be less. If you have something really important to edit after your edit period has expired, I can help you out. I don't want to edit spelling or other small items unless it changes the meaning of the post. If I see double post I will usually delete the second post if it is identical. If you post a picture that is too large, you need to edit right away. The best approach is to make sure your picture is not too large before you post it. If you right click on your photo and then click "Properties" it will show the size of your picture in pixels.

I know this is more than you asked but others will see this post and they may be having problems with some of these items.

    FYI, it's 15 minutes. I just tried on a thread I started.

    Thanks Dorian,

I couldn't time it as I always have the ability to edit as a Moderator.
