Default One stream were I fish

Now you see why I prefer rods that load short and cast soft ? And this isn't even the upper end of this stream which has more fish but tougher to fish.

Though I am by instinct a large river trout fisherman, I have many medium to small streams that I love to spend time on. These two additionally provide the rarity of near total solitude along with some surprising fish. I fish them with an 8 1/2'/#4 as my fishing partner is also doing.

Nice pics!

My opinion of Appalachian trout fishing is that if there isn't a rhododendron overhanging the stream, you're in the wrong spot.

Nice pics. We are hitting a small stream on Saturday morning. Tackle for the day will be 7' 4wt ,or 6' boo 3wt.
It's a new spot, and excited to try it.
Keep the pictures coming, it helps us get thru the work week . Thanks for sharing !

Second image, base of the tree with snow on it looks like a woman crawling to the bank, maybe to grab a trout bare-handed.
