    Default Fly fishing vacation-Need help

Trying to find a place to plan a vacation for this summer, preferably somewhere with great fly fishing for trout nearby. I will be going at the end of July-Early August. I am from Minnesota if that but willing to travel far. If you could pick one place to go on a week long trout fishing vacation, where would you go?

It has been 20 years since Ive been there. Jackson Hole Wyoming and the Grand Teton park of Wyoming could quite possibly be heaven on earth. If I had no one else to please I would go there. If the family decided to tag along they could entertain themselves in town.

If I won the lotto I would send my wife to Italy and I would drag my travel trailer and my fishing buddy up there for a month

People come to Colorado from all over the world for the fishing. Must be good. I think so- and I live there!

Or, go visit Ard (aka Hardyreels) in Alaska.

I am a big fan of the Yellowstone area. Every fly fisherman needs to go there at least once in his/her life.

Come out and fish Wyoming with me for a day or two, then head up to YNP (it is about 100 miles north of Pinedele, WY).

I went fishing again today, here are a few of the fish I landed:

Same Snake River Cutthroat as above:

I cannot suggest strongly enough going with the Wy. thing, yet bouncing up to Montana through YNP and over to Idaho.....I just posted in another thread in this section a short trip I made through Mt./Id.. So very worth it!

Before you settle on YNP, you'd better check for availability of cabins/rooms. Unless you have a camper or will stay in a tent, it's too late to book inside the park.
But I agree, it's great there. I booked my room during November for this (upcoming) June. Love it inside the park.
